The Gotlandsdricke / Koduõlu / Sahti are traditional ales style unique to three areas: Finland (Sahti), the Swedish island of Gotland and the Estonian island of Saaremaa (Koduõlu). There are subtle differences between them and also between Sahti from different regions in Finland. Good Notes: Gotlandsdricka, meaning “Drink of the Good Land”, is believed to have been the beer of the Vikings.

Det bryggs gotlandsdricka lite överallt på den Gotländska landsbygden.Så jag vet inte var dukan köpa det, men sätt en laddning själv kanske inte 100 l första gången.Här är ett recept och tips om hur man kan brygga sitt dricka.Tänk på att alla som har bryggt några gånger kommer på små egna tricks som gör att man får drickan som man vill.Receptet till ca 100 liter:25 kg malt2 Om du ska besöka Gotland i sommar kan det vara en bra idé att lära sig ett par gotländska ord och uttryck.

Gotlandsdricka (på gutniska drikke eller drikko, i bestämd form drikku) är ett gotländskt hembryggt öl. Drickan är nära besläktad med både ale och den traditionella finska ölen sahti. The survived Nordic and Baltic farmhouse ales sahti, koduõlu, gotlandsdricka, maltøl and kaimiškas are remains of a larger culture. Likely similar ales were once brewed also elsewhere in northern Europe, and perhaps evidence on this waits to be found in the historical books and archives. Viking Age Ale

Beståndsdelarna är vatten uppkokt med eneskvistar, malet kornmalt (kan vara hemrökt eller köpt bryggerimalt), humle, socker och jäst. Bästa sammansättningen av malt är att blanda köp- och hemmalt.

Our rendition of this ancient style is inspired by the traditional farmhouse ales once brewed on the island of Gotland off the coast of Sweden. Gotlandsdricka (6.6% alcohol by volume) is brewed with birchwood smoked malt, juniper and sweet gale. Depending on what was seasonally available, Gotlandsdricka was typically brewed with a variety of grains malted directly in the smoke of a fire, and that smoked malt flavor is a hallmark of the style. Additionally, sweetgale and hops were added to increase the sweetness and complexity of the final product.
