Super Swede-serien har fått sitt namn från en artikel i musikertidningen "International Musician and Recording World". I november 1978 testade tidningen nämligen en av de första gitarrerna från serien, som då fortfarande gick under namnet Swede Deluxe.

Super Swede was originally named Swede DeLuxe, but the name was changed after being called the Super Swede in a music magazine.
